The Return of an Aussie Icon: 680hp of Pure Muscle
At Tuff Streeters, we live and breathe Aussie muscle. Over the years, we've had the privilege of handing over some of the tuffest XR, XW, and XY combinations to passionate car lovers across the country. Our latest build continues that tradition, a complete, ground-up restoration that brings a true Australian classic roaring back to life.
This project started with a Falcon 500 humble in its origins, but destined for greatness. The car was stripped right back to bare metal and painstakingly rebuilt, finished in the iconic XY Surfer Orange that turns heads everywhere it goes. Underneath, the undercarriage was cleaned and finished in black for a tough, clean look, and an original wind-back sunroof was fitted to keep things authentically old-school.
From there, it only got better.
The Falcon was treated to full GT styling: a new grille, driving lights, front spoiler, and chrome GT trims all the little details that true enthusiasts notice and appreciate. Inside, it received a complete refresh, including new upholstery, roof lining, dash pad, a restored heater box, and a brand-new GT dash fascia, steering wheel, and console. Every single element — from the glass to the wiring, from the brakes to the EFI fuel system is brand new. The result is a finish that’s every bit as flawless as it is tough.
But while the exterior and interior tell one story, the real hero sits under the bonnet.
Powering this beast is a freshly built 408ci Cleveland, assembled by the team at Dandy Engines. Built tough with X2i internals, Callies crankshaft, and CP Billet pistons, the engine pumps out a staggering 670 horsepower on 98 pump fuel. It’s topped with CHI C400 Kaase heads, a CID intake, and an Accufab throttle body, all exhaling through a full stainless steel 3-inch exhaust system with Hooker mufflers. Managing the power is a FuelTech FT550 ECU, a combination that brings modern control to old-school muscle.
Backing the Cleveland is a tough C10 transmission, an SDE stall converter, and a billet-ended GJ driveshaft, feeding into a factory-style diff packed with 3.5 gears and 31-spline axles. Sitting on tuff Weld Wheels, this Falcon doesn’t just look right, it's built to go hard and go the distance.
In every sense, this is a true Tuff Streeters build: a blend of authentic restoration, hardcore performance, and attention to every last detail.
If you can picture yourself behind the wheel of this freshly built $170,000 XY GT making 670HP, this could be your chance but you’ll have to be quick.
The giveaway is open for just 72 hours, and the winner will be called this Friday night.
For one lucky entrant, the dream of owning one of Australia’s finest rebuilt Falcons is about to become a reality.
